Dear Parents / Guardians,
We appreciate your interest in our school and very much look forward to having you. We have outlined a few steps that will make entering GSIS as stress-free and as exciting as possible. Below are the steps you can follow to join Golden Standard International School.
Registration
- Visit the school to obtain an admission form. This form must be completed, signed and returned to the Admissions office.
COMPLETION OF ADMISSION FORMS:
Admission forms will ONLY be accepted for review when…
- They are fully completed and signed.
- Copies of the applicant’s last three terms report cards or recent standardized test scores are attached (this is applicable to applicants aged 4+).
- All medical forms including medical authorization, immunization forms and health information are attached.
- A copy of the applicant's birth certificate or photo page of passport is attached.
- One passport-sized photograph is enclosed.
APPLICANT ELIGIBILITY
Information provided during registration will largely determine the eligibility of the applicant. In addition to this, the following will also play a key role:
- AGE: Without exception, year groups within the school are determined by age in accordance with the National Curriculum of England.
- ASSESSMENT (ENGLISH LANGUAGE & MATHS): English Language proficiency is a requirement as all subjects are taught in English. The school will do an assessment of spoken and written English, as well as, Mathematics. This applies only to children aged above 4 years.
- REFERENCE LETTER:For all applicants, it is mandatory to provide a reference letter from your current school. The reference letter must be signed and stamped by the Principal or any authorized person assigned to do so. We may contact the applicant’s current school to verify the source of the reference letter if its authenticity is in doubt.
NEXT STEPS AFTER ASSESSMENT
Parents/Guardians should, upon receipt of the admission letter, do well to secure their place by immediately addressing the following without which your ward cannot start school:
- Payment of all school fees must be made directly to the designated bank account. The account details will be stated on the applicant’s bill.
- Proof of payment (e.g bank deposit slip, etc.) must be presented to the Accounts office in order to obtain an official receipt. Please note that payment is only considered complete when the school has issued an official receipt.
- Obtain school uniforms.
POST ADMISSION
- Parents will be sent an official Admission letter from the Admissions office via email.
- In the admission letter, there will be a bill itemizing all school fees and a deadline for settlement.
- An admission, once offered, will be deemed accepted when all fees are settled before the stipulated deadline.
WAITING LIST
- Even though a student may have successfully passed the entrance exam and/or interview, a place may not be readily available; in which case students will be put on a waiting list. No financial commitments will be required of such students until the school officially confirms their placement.
- All students on the waiting list will have equal chances of placement. However, preference will be given to students who already have siblings in the school.
